This event provided the opportunity for us to explore these questions and gain insight and awareness of the factors involved in managing our working lives and careers.
Barbara Matheson has over 20 years experience of women’s development including delivering the award winning Springboard programme for over 2,000 women in a wide range of organisations, and as a coach and mentor for women in a variety of roles including business owners and managers. In 2008 she qualified as a counsellor at Strathclyde University and now runs a private coaching and counselling service in Edinburgh. She also works as a mentor and currently runs the employability mentoring scheme for the Volunteer Centre in Edinburgh. Barbara was born In London and started her working life as a dental nurse, and went on to become the National Training Manager for a large UK based specialist recruitment organisation before launching her own training consultancy, The Learning Curve, in 1990.
As a result of accompanying friends on a Caribbean cruise Barbara moved to Scotland in 2005 where she established the very successful Women in Management Network in 2007 and is the current chair of the group.
