The world of Crime and Punishment is constantly changing. New laws are passed continually and someone comes along and breaks them. Evidence turns up in long-time unsolved mysteries, decades-old crimes are prosecuted and criminals jailed for years are suddenly released when new DNA testing points to another suspect. Fife’s Procurator Fiscal, Jim Robertson, is responsible for the prosecution of crime in Scotland, the investigation of sudden or suspicious deaths, and the investigation of complaints against the police. He works closely with the criminal justice system to help make Scotland a safer place.
